Using multivariable analyses including the 5 studied miRNAs, the odds ratios (OR) [95% confidence interval] for hospital readmission, adjusted for age, gender, heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, history of atrial fibrillation and of heart failure, left ventricular ejection fraction, plasma levels of BNP, sodium, creatinine, proteins and hemoglobin, was only significant for miR-423-5p (0.70 [0.53–0.93], p = 0.01) (Fig 4). Here, NPPB is linked to atrial fibrillation.
