Peptides derived from human vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptor 1 and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 combined with chemotherapy (S-1 plus cisplatin) have been shown to induce a VEGF specific cytotoxic lymphocyte response in patients with advanced gastric cancer resulting in a partial response in 55% of patients as well as prolonged overall survival [47].
