Mutations in the dysferlin gene (DYSF) cause myopathies including Miyoshi myopathy (MM), limb girdle muscular dystrophy type 2B (LGMD2B), and distal anterior compartment myopathy1,2,3, which are collectively called the dysferlinopathies.
