In mice, NAP protects against tauopathy and cognitive deficiencies in a model of ADNP haploinsufficiency (Vulih-Shultzman et al., 2007) and provides protection in transgenic models of FTD (Shiryaev et al., 2009) and AD (Matsuoka et al., 2007, 2008). This evidence concerns the gene ADNP and Alzheimer disease.
