We briefly describe the presence of elevated E2 levels in postmenopausal women with ovarian mucinous adenocarcinoma; the tumors showed high expression levels of aromatase and steroidogenic factor-1 (SF-1), which is a critical regulator of reproduction that regulates the transcription of key genes involved in sexual development and reproduction [6]. This evidence concerns the gene CYP19A1 and ovarian mucinous adenocarcinoma.
