The evidence that FGFR1 gene copy number is increased in our series of NSCLC patients points out the contention that FGFR1 asset may be related to EMT phenotype supporting the results recently reported for bladder cancer where activation of FGFR1 was demonstrated to induce EMT in urothelial carcinoma cell lines [27]. The gene discussed is FGFR1; the disease is urinary bladder cancer.
