Furthermore, multivariate Cox regression analysis (adjusted to age, stage, recurrence status, presence of concomitant CIS and metastasis) revealed that the presence of PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway molecules in STn+ MIBC is independently associated with approximately 6-fold risk of death by cancer (HR = 5.662; 95%CI: [1.093–29.323]; p = 0.039). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and in situ carcinoma.
