In 1994, EUCLID (EURODIAB Controlled Trial of Lisinopril in Insulin-Dependent Diabetes) trial [25] was performed in 530 patients with T1DM and either moderately increased albuminuria (79 patients, mean albumin excretion rate 42 mcg/min) or normoalbuminuria (440 patients), randomly assigned to lisinopril (10 mg/d to 20 mg/d) or placebo. Here, ALB is linked to type 1 diabetes mellitus.
