ACHE and depressive symptom measurement: The depressive-like symptoms induced by soman in animals is similar to clinical observations of deployed veterans exposed to nerve agents [118], those individuals exposed to sarin gas in the Tokyo subway [54], volunteers who were exposed to a sarin-like compound where depression was manifested when acetylcholinesterase activity levels were between 10% and 40% [66] as well as the intentional or accidental exposure to OP pesticides [61,62]; in these cases, depression was particularly prominent in women [119].
