With regard to the monogenic model of obesity, the ob/ob mice exhibit a high body weight (Figure 1(b)) and food intake (Figure 1(f)), and similar to the DIO rats, the ob/ob mice display a significant increase in insulin, glucose, and cholesterol levels with respect to WT controls (Table 1) and high levels of inflammatory markers in WAT (Figure 2(b)). The gene discussed is INS; the disease is obesity disorder.
