More importantly 9 new cancer genes were identified (Table 1); seven of them (ARID1B, CASP8, MAP3K1, MAP3K13, NCOR1, SMARCD1, CDKN1B) carried truncating mutations and were characterized by biallelic inactivation, suggesting that they were potentially recessive cancer susceptibility genes [7].
