GFPT1 and infection: AD WT infection also causes increased intracellular pool sizes of hexosamine pathway intermediates (Fig. 2f), and increases in transcript levels of hexosamine biosynthesis pathway enzymes including hexokinase 2 (HK2)6, glutamine fructose-6-phosphate amidotransferase 1 (GFAT1), encoded by the GFPT1 gene and N-acetylglucosamine kinase (NAGK) significantly more than AD ORF1 D68A infection (Supplementary Fig. 3a).
