ALB and Sepsis: Aguayo-Becerra et al. (2013) reported that low albumin level (<2 g/dL) was a risk factor for mortality (risk >80%) in burn patients. Qian & Liu (2012) also found that serum albumin level was closely related to the prognosis of children with sepsis, severe sepsis or septic shock. However, it is still unclear whether the mortality is definitively dependent on albumin concentration (Patel et al., 2014).
