Recent research has exhibited that resveratrol blunted the level of TNF-α in the skeletal muscle of rats with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (Qi et al., 2014); although whether the anti-inflammatory property of resveratrol would account for its modulatory effects on the reduction of interstitial space in compressed muscles shall be addressed in the future. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
