As a point of convergence for many oncogenic signaling pathways, STAT3 plays an important roles in angiogenesis, immune regulation and maintains stemloid cancer cell by crosstalk with driver mutation events of HNSCC e.g. Notch1, P53, NF-κB and EGFR (see review [28]). The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
