CASP6 and Stroke: Ki-67 is a nuclear marker that is expressed by proliferating cells, more noticeably after stroke.27 As shown in Figures 7a–l, the percentage of Ki-67 immunoreactive cells was significantly higher in the CASP6 or CASP8 inhibitor-treated groups (36.93±4.45 and 33.51±5.4, respectively) when compared with the control (13.5±0.99, P<0.01; Figure 7m).
