A subset of familial ALS forms have been attributed to proteins involved in vesicle trafficking, such as Alsin (ALS2; Yang et al., 2001), VABP (ALS8; Nishimura et al., 2004), and CHMP2B (ALS17; Parkinson et al., 2006). Here, CHMP2B is linked to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
