Firstly, the transcription factor FOXA1 (forkhead box protein A1) that is known to be strongly involved in breast cancer [21–23] was removed by the NCA algorithm in 84 % (84/100) of the configurations (it was retained 100 % by the ISNCA), loosing the ability to study its effect on the network. This evidence concerns the gene FOXA1 and breast carcinoma.
