Recent researches suggest that MALAT1 level is positively correlated with clinical stages and serves as an oncogene in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma13, glioma14, renal cell carcinoma15and etc. Mechanistic investigations showed that MALAT1 was transcriptionally activated by c-Fos or Sp1 in renal cell carcinoma and lung cancer cells15, 16. This evidence concerns the gene MALAT1 and renal cell carcinoma.
