EIF2A and cancer: The present study has been designed with a dual scope, namely (i) to develop an automated image analysis system that allows to measure ploidy and eIF2α hyperphosphorylation on tissue sections and (ii) to apply this technology to the question whether carcinogen-induced cancers arising in T cell-deficient mice exhibit differences in ploidy and eIF2α phosphorylation with respect to cancers developing in immunocompetent animals.
