It has been proved that glioma stem cells (GSCs) and tumor endothelial cells (TECs) also share the same regulating molecules in gliomagenesis, such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which enhances neuronal differentiation, and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which promotes ECs survival [16–18]. The gene discussed is BDNF; the disease is glioma.
