A remarkable aspect about the suppressive or regulatory immune response observed in the subarachnoid NCC patients in our study was that a high IL-10 production in SA patients was seen mainly after stimulation with high concentrations of TsAg (40 μg/ml; Fig 2); this suggests that strong suppressor activity may be restricted to the proximity of cyst where a levels of released parasite antigens are high. The gene discussed is IL10; the disease is cyst.
