Further support for the association between WWP1 and cell cycle was provided by Angelo Peschiaroli et al. who found that upregulation of WWP1 increased Δp63-dependent transcription, whereas depletion of WWP1 induced cell cycle arrest in human primary keratinocytes [38]; Nguyen Huu et al. found that expression of WWP1 inhibited apoptosis in breast and prostate cancer cells via the inhibition of TGF-β-mediated signaling [35]. This evidence concerns the gene WWP1 and prostate cancer.
