Other up-regulated genes included CD34, which acts as a marker for hematopoietic progenitor cells, MPL, which initiates and maintains RUNX1-ETO AML [30], CD200, whose up-regulation can promote AML progression [31], SOX4, which is a key oncogenic target in C/EBPα mutant AML [32], ETV6, which often cooperates with other oncogenic signals to induce leukemia [33, 34], and MAP7, which is targeted by miR-16 and regulates cell proliferation and the cell cycle in several cancer cell lines [35].
