We became interested in the clinically available antihypertensive agent hydralazine, not only because it reduces blood pressure (a desirable effect in Marfan syndrome) but also because it has been shown to inhibit PKC-mediated ERK1/2 activation in vivo (Deng et al., 2003; Gorelik et al., 2007). This evidence concerns the gene PRRT2 and Marfan syndrome.
