Immunoblots for the Thr202/Tyr204 dual-phosphorylated, activated form of ERK (pERK), showed a significant rise in pERK in water-treated glaucoma eyes compared either to bilaterally naïve controls or fellow eyes, supporting the hypothesis that stimulation of the AT receptors is involved in the response to glaucoma (Fig 7). The gene discussed is EIF2AK3; the disease is glaucoma.
