The percentage of Breg cells (CD19+CD25high cells) in peripheral blood (highly expressing FoxP3) was significantly higher in SLE patients when compared to that of healthy individuals (18.5% ± 3.052 versus 11.0 ± 1.654%, resp., p < 0.005) (Figure 3). The gene discussed is CD19; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
