Our previous study showed that rats fed a high-fat diet for 16 weeks developed NAFLD and that I kappa B kinase β (IKKβ), phospho-IKKβ (p-IKKβ), and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) were highly expressed in their KCs, implying a relationship between NAFLD and the IKKβ-NF-κB pathway [12]. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
