PC-TaMs tended to express higher levels of the chemokine CCL22 supporting Th2/Treg responses and significantly higher levels of CXCL12, a chemokine with multiple functions in cancer, including Treg skewing, immune suppression, stimulation of angiogenesis, and promotion of the migration of cancer cells (PC) to distant metastatic sites (for a review see ref.11). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL12 and cancer.
