NLRP3 and silicosis: Among subjects older than 70 years, individuals with the T allele of Ex4-849C>T in Nalp3 had a higher risk of silicosis than those with other genotypes (OR [95%CI] = 2.52 [1.04–6.12]); the T allele was also associated with a higher risk of silicosis in smokers (OR [95%CI] = 2.57 [1.11–5.93]).
