We probed into the possible upstream factors responsible for enhanced expression of FasL upon MMC treatment and narrowed down to the role of PPARγ, a transcription factor reported to regulate FasL expression.26, 27 We found that MMC treatment enhanced PPARγ level in a dose-dependent manner in cervical cancer cells as well as in macrophages (Figure 2bi). This evidence concerns the gene FASLG and cervical cancer.
