Multivariate logistic regressions were fitted to predict the probability of having less than 500 CD4 cell counts at the last visit by considering the following as explanatory variables: age, gender, race, route of transmission, time with HIV infection, time receiving antiretroviral therapy, antiretrovirals used at baseline, adherence, viral load, alcohol use, BMI, albumin, and liver function (Tables 3 and 4). The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is HIV infectious disease.
