While many neuroendocrine tumors have been reported to secrete calcitonin, including paragangliomas, pheochromocytomas, gastric carcinomas, small cell pulmonary tumors, VIPomas, insulinomas, and enteropancreatic endocrine tumors [16], only 3 prior reports of hypercalcitoninemia have been reported in MDNC of the larynx.
