MRC1 and colorectal carcinoma: In conclusions, our study suggests that, even if MMR-genes pathogenic mutations are generally associated with an improved overall survival in patients with CRC, not all the mutations could be considered equal: their prognostic impact may differ on the basis of the type of mutation and the better prognosis in CRC patients harbouring a MMR pathogenic missense or splicing site mutation could be due to a different functional activity of the encoded MMR protein.
