We found that SLURP1 expression is markedly increased via STAT3 signaling in psoriatic skin, and that recombinant SLURP1 suppresses the growth of S. aureus. These results suggest SLURP1 expression is controlled by IL-22 and is involved in the maintenance of skin homeostasis as well as the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Here, SLURP1 is linked to psoriasis.
