Given its localization in a commonly deleted region, and the putative tumor suppressor properties associated with VTRNA2-1, we suggested that VTRNA1-1, 1-2 and 1-3 may also be potential tumor suppressors and investigated whether DNA methylation could co-regulate their expression and be involved in the pathogenesis of MDS.
