Although, Ranjithkumar et al., (2007) ▶ failed to show anti-thermal hyperalgesic effect for insulin (5 IU/kg for 4 weeks), chronic treatment with insulin (10 IU/kg for 4 weeks after 4 weeks induction of diabetes) attenuated thermal hyperalgesia and hot-plate latency in STZ-induced diabetic neuropathy in mice (Sharma et al., 2007 ▶). This evidence concerns the gene INS and diabetes mellitus.
