The pregnant adolescents with bacterial vaginosis had higher IL-1 beta levels (median 176.7 pg/ml; range 0.0 - 2009.0) in the cervicovaginal samples than did those with normal vaginal flora (median 4.3 pg/ml; range 0.0 - 410.4) (P < 0.0001). This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and bacterial vaginosis.
