Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) symptoms may develop or flare during stimulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis, when GnRH and gonadotropin secretion increases, such as during the menopausal transition, postpartum, anti-oestrogen therapy, or polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) [1–4]. Here, GNRH1 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
