In non-neoplastic gastric mucosa, the percentage of SRC (p = 0.010, ρ = -0.218) and LYN (p = 0.003, ρ = -0.248) methylation was (weakly) inversely correlated with the age of patients at surgery, though no other association was observed between the percentage of methylation and gender, H. pylori and EBV infection in the non-neoplastic samples (p > 0.05; Mann-Whitney test). This evidence concerns the gene SRC and Epstein-Barr virus infection.
