To test this hypothesis, we analysed MAP3K8 functions in two independent human ovarian cancer cell lines (SKOV3 and IGROV-1), which exhibit high MAP3K8 protein levels (Supplementary Fig. 2A) and are known to be either null or inactivated for TP53, a common feature in almost all HGSC12, 41, 42. The gene discussed is MAP3K8; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
