Although CDH1 has been reported to be frequently methylated in breast tumours and suggested as a biomarker for breast cancer, we did not identify any methylation of CDH1. Different methodologies have been used to detect the methylation status of CDH1 in breast cancers and a wide range of methylation frequencies in breast cancers has been reported (range from 1 to 23 %). The gene discussed is CDH1; the disease is breast carcinoma.
