In the 4th edition of the WHO classification for tumors, the differential diagnoses in skin lesions with HIV-positive, CD8+ CD30-T-cell proliferation are as follows: primary cutaneous peripheral T-cell lymphoma (primary cutaneous gamma delta T-cell lymphoma or primary cutaneous CD8-positive aggressive epidermotropic T-cell lymphoma), subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma, mycosis fungoides (rare CD8 subtype), lymphomatoid papulosis (rare CD8 subtype), and lymphoma associated with HIV infection (rare manifestation). Here, CD8A is linked to panniculitis.
