Similar to what we observed in RAGE expression (Fig 5A), Mito-Vit-E provided stronger inhibitory effect on ASC expression in cardiomyocytes than it did in inflammatory cells, which is presumably due to the fact that cardiomyocytes are high in mitochondria density and mtROS concentration, thus significantly respond to Mito-Vit-E in a timely fashion after sepsis. This evidence concerns the gene AGER and Sepsis.
