VEGFA and Thromboembolism: Although treatment with antiangiogenic TKIs has been associated with certain specific AEs, including, bleeding, GI perforation and thromboembolism, nintedanib showed only moderate frequencies of hypertension, hypothyroidism and any cardiac AEs and there were no signs and symptoms for HFS, stomatitis or any haematological laboratory abnormalities.(Ravaud, 2011) Hypertension was once considered a potential indicator for efficacy of anti-VEGF therapy but it has not been validated as a predictive marker and a recent meta-analysis showed no association (Hurwitz et al, 2013).
