ZEB1 and Cirrhosis: Recently, we could demonstrate in clinical tissue samples that members of the microRNA-200 family have potential as diagnostic markers for the detection of cirrhosis-associated HCC.[10] Further, we confirmed the regulatory effect of the microRNA-200 family as a suppressor of epithelial–mesenchymal transition and cancer cell migration through targeting the zinc finger E-box-binding transcription factor and mesenchymal marker ZEB-1.
