BICC1 and mood disorder: Whilst there is currently no evidence to suggest that levels of BICC1 expression within individuals with the CG haplotype of BICC77 are higher than those with the AA haplotype, the observation of a significant difference in the influence of these haplotypes on the activity of the BICC1 promoter in primary amygdala neurones provides us with a possible insight into a mechanism contributing to mood disorders.
