ALB and diabetes mellitus: Age, coronary artery disease, diabetes mellitus and predialysis hypokalemia with a serum potassium concentration <4.0 mEq/L had a significant adverse impact, and exposure to 1.0 mEq/L potassium dialysate, Kt/V, and serum albumin, hemoglobin, creatinine and phosphate levels had a significant protective effect on all-cause mortality in the univariate analysis (Table 2).
