In the meantime, we used LY294002, a chemical specifically inhibiting AKT phosphorylation, to treat DLBCL cells and found that suppression of AKT activity led to a significant inhibition of cell proliferation in OCI-Ly01, Farage, and SUDHL-4 cells (Figure 5B), but not in VAL, OCI-Ly10, or SUDHL-8 cells (data not shown). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
