We have earlier established a role of SPRY2 in maintaining oncogenic c-Met expression in CRC.5 Our findings were recently confirmed and a similar regulation of c-Met by SPRY2 has been reported in non-small cell lung cancer.36 Together, our studies indicate a role of SPRY in sustaining processes important to malignancy in CRC, and suppression of SPRY may inhibit EMT in CRC patients. This evidence concerns the gene MET and colorectal carcinoma.
